Yesterday, the very first casino in the state of Massachusetts officially opened, the Plainridge Park Casino, and it did so in a big way. They offer live harness racing, as well as over 1,250 slot machines and video table games, including blackjack and poker. It is a great day, as this huge 160,000 square foot building opened its doors for the first time.
It was a huge step in this conservative gambling state, but there is still plenty left to accomplish. So far, they have been granted the same rights that a racetrack would have, with the added benefit of being able to provide more than just slots, as they have many different video table games spread throughout their floor.
The video gaming tables come with their own virtual, scantily clad showgirls as the dealers on a big screen for players to watch. Patrons were met with these dealers, as well as plenty of bright lights, making them feel like if they were in the heart of Las Vegas.
The opening gave jobs to more than 600 full and part-time jobs, as the development cost more than $250 million to accomplish. So, for those in the state looking to play some video blackjack or try their luck on the slot machines, should go down to see the very first legal casino of Massachusetts.
